What does it do? Due to the electric currents and magnetic fields, the train is pushed through the coil.
How does it work? The train works because when you put the magnets on the end of the battery, it creates a bar magnet with a north and south pole. An electric current starts to flow through the copper wire when you put the train inside of the wire coil. That current then creates a magnetic field in the area of wire where the train is around. This magnetic field has north and south poles which is why it pushes the train through the coil.
Step 1: Wrap your copper wire around the tube, creating a tight coil.
Continue wrapping until there is no more wire.
Finished coil shown.
Create the battery "car," make sure to have the poles retracting each other.
